Statement: Racism is a Public Health Crisis

President Gerard J. Rooney, on behalf of the St. John Fisher College community, supports the Greater Rochester Black Agenda Group’s “Racism is a Public Health Crisis” declaration.

As an anchor institution of higher education in this community, and a leader in health care education, St. John Fisher College strongly supports the Greater Rochester Black Agenda Group and its “Racism is a Public Health Crisis” declaration.

At Fisher, we have a long-standing commitment to issues of social justice and as such, a responsibility to be a part of the solution. We remain committed to community-wide efforts to eliminate institutional and structural racism and discrimination and to educating our community around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
