Fisher Lands Conference-Leading 191 Student-Athletes on E8 President's List
The St. John Fisher University Department of Athletics is proud to announce that 191 student-athletes were recently honored by the Empire 8 for their efforts in the classroom as the conference released its President's List for the spring semester.
Recipients of this honor must earn a 3.75 grade-point average or higher during the semester, while participating in an NCAA-sponsored sport. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive conduct on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution. The conference states, "Its commitment to serve the educational needs of its student-athletes is the hallmark of the Empire 8 Conference."
In total, 996 student-athletes were recognized by the league with Fisher leading the way. In addition, the Cardinals had 20 of their 25 programs recognized for having maintained a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 during the spring semester.
Among the programs that were applauded for the academic pedigree include baseball (3.20), women's basketball (3.76), cheerleading (3.27), men's rowing (3.82), women's rowing (3.44), men's cross country (3.24), women's cross country (3.64), field hockey (3.58), women's golf (3.74), men's lacrosse (3.43), women's lacrosse (3.37), men's soccer (3.28), women's soccer (3.51), softball (3.53), men's tennis (3.48), women's tennis (3.55), women's indoor track and field (3.63), women's outdoor track and field (3.65), men's volleyball (3.24) and women's volleyball (3.72).
