Martz Selected for Leadership Academy Program
Diane Martz, controller at St. John Fisher University, has been accepted into the prestigious 2023-2024 Senior Leadership Academy (SLA), co-sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI). The 12-month academy program includes two seminars, leadership theory and practice, development of a professional experience plan, mentorship, individualized executive coaching, and more.
“Diane is a critical and valuable leader who has been instrumental in leading the finance department during the COVID-19 pandemic and has helped us preserve the University’s core mission of delivering high-quality education to students by implementing financial strategies that helped to enhance the student experience,” said Heze Simmons, former interim vice president for finance and chief financial officer.
Through the CIC, the SLA “fills a gap in the current leadership pipeline by preparing talented leaders with the skills needed to advance to senior leadership position on campus.” As a focus, the SLA helps participants become stronger leaders by focusing on strategic and innovative initiatives that help their institution become more grounded on those concepts that exploit the institution’s competitive advantage.
