School of Business Inducts 23 into Beta Gamma Sigma
This spring, 22 students and one faculty member in the School of Business were tapped to join St. John Fisher University’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for AACSB-accredited schools representing the top five percent of business programs around the world.
The School of Business taps inductees representing the top 10 percent of undergraduate and graduate students from accounting, finance, human resources management, management, marketing, and master of business administration (MBA) into its BGS chapter.
- Sophomores: Jonathan Babock, Zachary Coxford, Kaley Griffin, Reid Hooker, Hanna Rademacher, and Jason Weng
- Juniors: Michael Cichon, Gabriella DiSanto, Carle Elliott, Jack Marlowe, James Mason, Wyatt Rodbourn, and Madelyn Tardugno
- Seniors: Dylan Dambaugh, Anthony Girmshaw, Madeline Adrich
- MBA Candidates: Adrianna Carfagna, Jonathan Costain, Kelly DeCaro, Robert Perkins, Nathaniel Ripple, and Joseph Ruggiero
Faculty member Dr. Marwa Soliman, assistant professor of management, was also inducted.
The School of Business also honored faculty and staff for their contributions to the community.
Angela Uttaro, an adjunct faculty member in the finance program, was given the Adjunct Faculty Karyl Mammano Excellence in Service Award. Named after the late Karyl Mammano, the award is given to the adjunct faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in service as evidenced by longevity within the department and/or University, involvement in department and/or University activities, and contribution to the larger community.
The Star Award for Excellence in Teaching was given to Ron Sicker, a visiting assistant professor of practice in the marketing program. The award recognizes a full-time faculty member who has excelled both inside and outside the classroom, in one or more ways through teaching innovations, student engagement and mentoring, and impact.
Dr. Yi (Bessie) Liu, assistant professor of finance, was given the Star Award for Excellence in Research, which recognizes the importance of scholarship as a component of a professor’s learning, relevancy, and currency.
Brittany Pasquale, assistant to the dean, was given the Star Award for Excellence in Service, which recognizes a faculty or staff member who most exemplified a core Fisher trait of service to others.
