Dr. Allison Rioux is currently the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Brighton Central School District. Previously, she worked in Brighton as the principal of French Road Elementary School, assistant director of humanities, and as a literacy coach. Prior to her time in Brighton, she worked in the Rochester City School District as both a special education teacher and literacy coach.
Rioux has been connected to St. John Fisher University for many years. As a double cardinal, she graduated from Fisher with her bachelor’s degree in childhood and special education in 2003 and her master’s degree in literacy in 2006. She has also worked as an adjunct instructor in the University’s graduate literacy program for over ten years and has remained a district partner for many years as well. The School of Education teacher pipeline program partnership was initiated through Rioux’s work in the Brighton Central School District. She received her doctorate and administrative certification from the University of Rochester.
