The educational leadership programs are for candidates who hold a New York State (NYS) teaching certificate (professional or permanent) and are seeking certification at the school building, or school building and school district level. Each option is built on a modular model that encompasses:

  • Development of effective leadership
  • Creation of a high-quality learning environments
  • Planning and implementing school improvement strategies
  • Effective public communication
  • Continuous school improvement

Fisher's 32 credit educational leadership graduate program is a must for working teachers interested in taking on a leadership role in their school or district.

Program Highlights

  • Technology Enhanced Delivery - blended format with online course components (48 hours of asynchronous work per course)
  • On-campus classes meet every other Saturday (32 Saturdays for the entire program)

Curriculum Overview

The educational leadership curriculum places you in the administrator's seat while simulating the responsibilities of deciding what to do when time, ethics, and limited resources are factors. Coursework combines theory, authentic case studies, class discussions, candidates’ experience, and field-based internships to address current and emerging issues impacting the quality of education.
