Online M.S. in Literacy Education
Engage in a literacy program that prepares you for today’s classroom and communities.
Designed for general and special education teachers, the M.S. degree in literacy education at Fisher can be completed online in just four semesters and leads to professional certification as a literacy specialist for both Birth–Grade 6 and Grades 5–12.
The fully online program prepares you to be a culturally responsive literacy professional who works directly with students who experience difficulty in reading or writing while providing literacy support to classroom teachers and families.

Curriculum Overview
Fisher’s culturally responsive literacy education curriculum focuses on pedagogy, theory, and literature, as well as community partnerships and experiences. You will expand your knowledge of literacy curriculum, assessment, and instruction for diverse learners while developing an understanding of the cultural impacts of literacy on education.
