Pharm.D. Application Process

Applications to join the Fall 2025 cohort in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy are due by June 2, 2025. Complete applications for admission will be processed upon receipt. The Admissions Committee will identify and invite the most qualified candidates to campus for an interview. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. The Admissions Committee will notify applicants of a decision on a rolling basis.

Application Through PharmCAS

PharmCAS (Pharmacy College Application Service) is a centralized service that offers the convenience of one general application for multiple Pharm.D. programs.

To apply to the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, submit the following directly to PharmCAS.

  • Online application to PharmCAS
  • PharmCAS fee
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions
    • Note: Arrange for PharmCAS to receive an official transcript from every U.S. institution you attended in the United States and Canada (if in English), including University Extension.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
    • Note: Cumulative and science GPAs of 2.75 are considered competitive. However, most students accepted to the program perform at a much higher level.

Incomplete applications will not be processed by PharmCAS or the School.

International Applicants/Foreign Transcripts

The Wegmans School of Pharmacy requires TOEFL scores for non-native, English-speaking applicants. The minimum acceptable score on the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 80 (internet-based). Foreign transcripts must be sent to an evaluation service for a course-by-course report. Send this report directly to PharmCAS. The PharmCAS website has a list of approved foreign transcript evaluation services.


Criminal Background Check Requirements

If accepted, you will be subject to a criminal background check. You are required to complete this procedure prior to matriculation. It is your responsibility to assume expenses related to this requirement. You must follow procedures for completing a criminal background check as instructed by the Wegmans School of Pharmacy. Pre-Professional Course Requirements

Minimum specific prerequisite course requirements are:

General Course Requirements

Total 24 semester hours

  • English/Literature - 6 semester hours. One course must be English writing/composition.
  • Speech - 3 semester hours (recommend Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communications)
  • Economics - 3 semester hours (recommend Microeconomics)
  • Humanities and or Social/Behavioral Sciences - 12 semester hours

Science and Math Requirements

Total 38 semester hours

  • Calculus - 3 semester hours
  • Statistics - 3 semester hours
  • General Chemistry - 8 semester hours w/lab
  • Organic Chemistry - 8 semester hours w/lab
  • Physics - 4 semester hours w/lab
  • Biology - 12 semester hours w/lab

The Wegmans School of Pharmacy prefers best earned grades of C or better in all prerequisite courses; applicants with grades of C- in prerequisite courses will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Prerequisites must be completed prior to matriculation into the Wegmans School of Pharmacy. All science courses (chemistry, biology, physics) must include a laboratory with each lecture. Advanced placement courses are not accepted for science courses. All pre-professional coursework must be completed prior to matriculation into the School of Pharmacy.
