Safe Medication Disposal
In partnership with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, Fisher offers a medication disposal unit open to the public for unused or expired drugs.
Safe disposal of drugs is important for limiting the risk of substance abuse and harm to the environment.
Medication Disposal Location on Campus
Haffey Hall, St. John Fisher University
3690 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14618
- Enter campus at the Center Entrance off of Fairport Rd
- Park in 15-minute temporary parking
- Walk to the entrance of Haffey Hall
- The disposal unit will be immediately to your left, across from Safety and Security

Accepted Items
The following items can be deposited in the disposal unit:
- Prescriptions
- Prescription patches
- Prescription medications
- Over-the-counter medications
- Vitamins
- Samples
- Medications for pets
Prohibited Items
The following items cannot be deposited in the disposal unit:
- Illegal (Schedule 1) drugs
- Needles/ syringes or sharps
- Medical devices, batteries
- Aerosol cans
- Inhalers
- Chemical (including but not limited to Hydrogen Peroxide)
- Ointments, Lotions, Liquids
- Medications from businesses or clinics
