The NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) is a nationwide examination for professional licensure.

NCLEX examinations are created by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

Licensure Pass Rates By Year

Licensure pass rates on the NCLEX-RN© are for first-time test takers. 

• 2024: 98.8% or 161/163
• 2023: 94.4% or 169/179
• 2022: 85.4% or 158/185
• 2021: 93.3% or 181/194
• 2020: 98.9% or 182/184

Note: Data is provided as both a percentage pass rate and as a ratio of the number of students passing to the total number of tests taken.
