01/27/2022 - A new space for students to pray, meditate, or simply enjoy quiet has opened in the Wegmans School of Nursing.
01/24/2022 - This May, the College will celebrate members of the Class of 2022 during the 68th Commencement on campus.
01/21/2022 - The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College has been awarded a $225,000 grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation to create and pilot a new educational program for acute care nurses in Western New York.
01/10/2022 - On Friday, Jan. 7, St. John Fisher College faculty and staff celebrated their achievements in successfully submitting grant proposals, receiving grant awards, and implementing grant projects over the last year.
01/04/2022 - In late December, Governor Kathy Hochul signed a package of laws to improve access to care for New Yorkers with developmental disabilities. In collaboration with the New York State Association of Behavior Analysis (NYSABA), St. John Fisher College and its Office of Sponsored Programs and Government Affairs and the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing served as advocates for one piece of groundbreaking legislation to expand the scope of practice of Licensed Behavior Analysts.
12/13/2021 - This fall, three faculty members, Dr. Lori Dambaugh, Dr. Colleen Donegan, and Dr. Melissa Goodwin, were appointed to leadership positions within their respective Schools.
11/18/2021 - A new and first of its kind curriculum designed for integration into existing primary care nurse practitioner residency programs to improve the health care experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) has been developed by nursing faculty at the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Nursing.
11/17/2021 - Kate Jarvis, BS, RN and current student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, presented her integrated review findings at the 10th Annual Johns Hopkins Critical Care Rehabilitation Conference.
11/10/2021 - The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC), a partnership between the American Association of Colleges of Nurses and the City of Hope, in Duarte, California, once again included St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Nursing on its ELNEC-Undergraduate Champions List.
10/29/2021 - A twice-monthly peer support group on campus is designed to help students address their mental health issues with the assistance of peers and professionals. A cross-campus collaboration, the sessions are organized by Dr. Chris Noel, visiting associate professor in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy, and facilitated by two graduate students in the mental health counseling program in the Wegmans School of Nursing.
