03/17/2020 - Dr. Tara Sacco, visiting assistant professor in the Wegmans School of Nursing, was recently given the Distinguished Dissertation Award by Villanova University’s Fitzpatrick College of Nursing.
03/17/2020 - Master’s programs offered through St. John Fisher College’s Wegmans School of Nursing and Wegmans School of Pharmacy are among the top 120 programs in the country, according to a ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
03/16/2020 - Like many of her classmates, Ashley Blaakman ’19 (Pharm.D.) chose a career in health care because of her passion for service. So it’s no surprise that a team of students and faculty from Fisher spent their spring break serving those in need at the border of El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico, volunteering with local human services organizations.
02/28/2020 - After a nationwide search, St. John Fisher College has appointed Tricia K. Gatlin, Ph.D., RN, CNE as the dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing. Gatlin’s appointment follows the retirement of Dr. Dianne Cooney Miner, founding dean of the School. Gatlin will begin at the College on July 1, when Cooney Miner will assume full-time the role of executive director of the College’s Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing.
02/25/2020 - The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College and Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) in Waterford, Ireland have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together in the field of intellectual disability nursing. This is the second MoU between WIT and Fisher.
02/21/2020 - The Rochester Business Journal will honor Dr. Dianne Cooney Miner, founding dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College, with the Lifetime Achievement Award during its annual Health Care Heroes 2020 Awards Ceremony in March.
02/19/2020 - Graduates from the Class of 2019 are finding success in their lives after Fisher, according to results from the First Destinations Survey (FDS) administered by the College annually to all bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree recipients.
02/19/2020 - St. John Fisher College’s Mental Health Counseling master’s degree program has been named among the “25 Best Master’s in Counseling Programs 2020,” according to gradreports.com.
02/13/2020 - Wegmans School of Nursing student Meghan Pesce recently traveled to Waterford, Ireland to complete her nursing preceptorship in intellectual disability nursing. The preceptorship took place at the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), which holds a partnership with St. John Fisher College through the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing.
