Education Celebration Honors Students, Alumni, Community Partners Four awards were given to undergraduate students, recognizing their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to education.

05/09/2019 - On Friday, May 3, the St. John Fisher College Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held its annual Education Celebration, recognizing the College’s support for education, educators, and community leadership. Graduating seniors, graduate candidates, and alumni were honored during the event.

School Supply Drive Benefits Pencils & Paper Project The College community can drop off school supplies at bins throughout campus.

04/24/2019 - Members of Fisher’s Pencils & Paper committee are collecting donations for Pencils & Paper, a resource through the Jewish Family Service of Rochester that serves the educational and creative needs of children in the Greater Rochester Area by providing free school supplies to teachers at high poverty schools.

04/04/2019 - On Saturday, March 23, the St. John Fisher College Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education held a hooding and awards ceremony for graduates of the Ed.D. in Executive Leadership program at Iona College, one of two extension sites where the program is offered.

03/29/2019 - More than 1,000 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral candidates will graduate from St. John Fisher College during its 65th Commencement on Saturday, May 11. Before they cross the stage to receive their diplomas, the College will honor three individuals for their lifetime commitment to advocacy on behalf of the Rochester community.

International Author Discusses Trauma Sensitive Approaches in Schools Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, an internationally known physician and author, facilitated sessions targeted for charter school and traditional public school leaders, related service providers, and teachers.

03/28/2019 - More than 200 area K-12 educators and counselors gained knowledge and information on the timely topic of relationship-based trauma sensitive approaches in schools during a professional development event sponsored by the Executive Leadership program at St. John Fisher College.

An Exchange of Students, Ideas Desine Butler, Odeisha Clunie, and Leslie-Ann Gregory, third-year students from Shortwood Teachers College in Jamaica, came to Fisher through the student-exchange program.

03/25/2019 - A partnership between the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education at St. John Fisher College and Shortwood Teachers College in Kingston, Jamaica once again gave three students from each college the chance to experience education from a new perspective.
