04/28/2023 - Rising junior Degraj Suberi will have the opportunity to perform research as part of a particle physics research group this summer at the University of Rochester. Suberi will work alongside Dr. Nicholas Bigelow, professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Rochester, as well as members of the Neutrino Group.
04/24/2023 - Sport management major Gavin Miller is the final member of the Class of 2023 to be featured in the “Countdown to Commencement” series. Miller was nominated by Patrick Gordon, leadership annual giving officer in the Office of Institutional Advancement.
04/20/2023 - In his book, Creating Wicked Students: Designing Courses for a Complex World, Dr. Paul Hanstedt encourages professors to create courses that will prepare students to address “wicked problems,” or issues that are forever changing and require innovative and dynamic thinking to solve them.
04/19/2023 - St. John Fisher University students, family members, and sport management faculty gathered at Oak Hill Country Club on Saturday, April 16, to celebrate student achievements and honor Bryan Karns, director of the 2023 PGA Championship, as the program’s Sport Manager of the Year. The night included mingling, student awards, and Karns’ reflections on working in the sport industry.
04/17/2023 - Psychology major Emma Moscato is the next member of the Class of 2023 to be featured in the “Countdown to Commencement” series. Moscato was nominated by Timothy Franz, professor and chair, Psychology Department.
04/12/2023 - This month, an event will bring together the best of two past symposiums that highlight and celebrate student, faculty, and staff research and creative work. The newly created Fisher Showcase will take place from 12:15 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 28, in Cleary Family Auditorium.
04/10/2023 - Biology and public health double major and Spanish for health/global health minor Mariangelis Gonzalez is the next member of the Class of 2023 to be featured in the “Countdown to Commencement” series. Gonzalez was nominated by Dr. Rick DeJesus-Rueff, academic director of the First-Generation Scholars Program; Emily Colliss, assistant director of the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement; and Gabe Iturbides, TRIO Student Support Services program director.
04/10/2023 - This spring, students in Professor Arien Rozelle’s public relations course are learning that when it comes to civil rights and social justice, “it happened here.”
04/05/2023 - In commemoration of National Donate Life Month, St. John Fisher University will host, “The Ins and Outs of Human Organ Donation,” a series of talks designed to raise awareness of organ donation, and the systems around the country to support organ donation and transplantation.
03/31/2023 - The First Friday Lecture Series returns this spring as Rev. William Graf delivers the talk, “Who was John Fisher?” on Friday, April 14 (this month’s lecture is delayed one week due to Friday, April 7 being Good Friday).
